JSC Mosproekt-4 (Joint-Stock Company "Moscow Research and Design Institute for Cultural, Leisure, Sports, and Healthcare Facilities Mosproekt-4") is one of the leading design institutes in Moscow, founded in 1968.
The institute initially specialized in the design of unique buildings in the fields of healthcare, sports, culture, and leisure. Its very first project was dedicated to the latter two areas — the reconstruction of Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure in Moscow. The first landmark cultural facility was the Taganka Theatre building, and in 2024 the construction of the newest buildings of the Tretyakov Gallery on Kadashovskaya Embankment was completed.
The institute’s participation in Olympic construction projects resulted in the creation of such iconic sports facilities as the Krylatskoye Velodrome in Moscow and the Fisht Stadium in Sochi. Its portfolio also includes internationally renowned medical institutions such as the Chazov National Medical Research Center of Cardiology and the Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology, as well as dozens of clinics and maternity hospitals.
Over the decades, Mosproekt-4 has expanded its expertise, having developed and implemented more than 300 projects. These include architectural and urban planning solutions, infrastructure facilities, residential and administrative buildings, business centers, schools, and kindergartens.
The institute has played a key role in shaping the architectural identity of Moscow. Yet its work extends beyond the capital: projects have been developed for more than 20 cities, including Havana and Beijing.
In 2025, a new Urban Planning Competence Center is being established on the basis of the design institute, where advanced solutions for the city are developed. Today, JSC Mosproekt-4 is becoming the leading design institute of Moscow, serving as a platform for the reorganization and consolidation of the capital’s professional resources and design organizations.
A systemic transformation aimed at the development and regeneration of the Moscow school of design is shaping a sustainable and competitive architectural and engineering platform capable of addressing the challenges of a modern metropolis.
One of the key areas of the institute’s development is the digitalization of design and the implementation of BIM technologies, as well as the renewal of workshops — spaces for testing new methodologies, design solutions, and digital processes. Special attention is given to education and the involvement of young specialists, architects, and engineers, as well as to building partnerships with universities, research centers, and professional communities.
Today, JSC Mosproekt-4 is both a design institute and a competence center, bringing together the traditions of the Moscow architectural school, digital technologies, and a new generation of professionals.
